Author upset because people don't understand his work

Among all the premieres of the Spring-2024 season (April-June), "Henjin no Salad Bowl (A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics)" is definitely one of the least watched. We can tell this from the fact that there is not much discussion on social networks about the series, in addition to the fact that in catalogs such as MyAnimeList, the series appears in the last positions of the season.
Despite being the author of other popular franchises such as "Imouto sae Ireba Ii. (A Sister's All You Need)" and "Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Haganai: I don't have many friends)", it's evident that the new series hasn't been able to quite get off the ground, especially since the plot is quite chaotic.
The premise alone is reminiscent of similar stories like "Sasaki to Pii-chan," and in fact, there are echoes of that same charm in "Henjin no Salad Bowl." Picture this: a chivalrous knight facing the challenges of homelessness while a powerful and resourceful princess tests the limits of her abilities, often on the brink of trouble.
Perhaps the peculiar plot, considered "incomprehensible" by some, has been the reason why viewers prefer to give other series a chance. However, the curious thing is that the author Yomi Hirasaka himself took to Twitter to criticize these people:
- "I often see comments from people who say they don't understand the story of 'Henjin no Salad Bowl,' but I would like to ask them, what do they want to do with their lives? This story is for those who can't answer that question. If they can't do it, just keep being the way they are, as long as they don't cause problems for others," he wrote on Twitter.

And of course, his strange opinion did not go unnoticed:
- "Is this guy getting upset about a majority opinion?"
- "An answer as incomprehensible as the story he wrote."
- "All his works are a narrative disaster, they don't make sense."
- "That doesn't answer anything, actually."
- "I really don't understand what he wanted to do with this work, a degraded copy of Hinamatsuri?"
- "It doesn't even give a fixed answer. An incomprehensible answer that doesn't answer anything doesn't change the public's opinion."
- "This author already has a history of getting angry at every criticism that is made of him, will he continue to do so as long as he continues to have fans?"
- "The quality of the animation gets worse with each episode. This is the first time I've left a series for this very reason."
- "His previous novels have been good, but the structure of this one I just don't understand."
- "A good work that reflects the charms of daily life."
- "I really like the story, but the author's attitude disappoints me. You can tell he hasn't had any personal growth since he was criticized a few years ago."
- "Don't the series of life stories have a particular purpose?"
